| In this course, students will be introduced to scientific instructional language (as used in the Methodology section of a lab report), and continue to expand their knowledge of paragraph and essay structures. |

| Extensive writing will allow students to become comfortable with English written composition. By the end of the course, students should be able to write a Lego instructional booklet, structured paragraphs with a clear topic sentence, and use basic grammar to express themselves. |

| There are no prerequisites for this course. However, all content in this course will build upon the basics taught in Writing IA. This course will connect with the activities and content in Reading IB and Communication IB frequently. |
| 授業計画 / Class Overall Plan |
| This course meets once a week, but the teacher will integrate instruction with the Reading I B and Communication IB courses often. This course is designed to build upon the skills learned in Writing IA and further improve students’ paragraph writing skills and writing fluency. Students will use MS Word to deliver formal and informal writing pieces on a variety of topics. |

| 授業方法 / Method of Instruction |
| This will be a workshop-based class in which the teacher will give clear instruction and guidance while students use computers on a daily basis to analyze and compose various writing pieces. This course approaches writing as a process, and students will write and revise their pieces throughout the term. |

| 成績評価 / Evaluation Criteria/Method |
| Students must earn a grade of at least 60% to pass this course. Students will be assessed on their writing portfolio, a lab report, paragraphs, and other instructor-determined coursework. Finally, students will be expected to attend class and participate on a regular basis. |
